BARITONE
Jas Wolfert (Stuttgart, Germany) is a Dutch baritone specializing in concert and art song repertoire, with a particular affinity for German Lieder. For over two years, he has been studying in Stuttgart at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst with Professor Teru Yoshihara, following more than six years of vocal training with the Dutch baritone Frans Fiselier at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
The foundation of his musical education was laid at an early age in a boys’ choir in his hometown of The Hague, where he performed both as a chorister and as a boy soloist.
Alongside singing, he developed a strong interest in the trombone, which led him to the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. There, he studied classical voice as his principal subject, complemented by orchestral conducting and trombone. His artistic development was further enriched through masterclasses, notably with Margreet Honig in Austria.

Throughout his studies and early career, Jas has gained extensive stage experience in both concert and operatic settings. He has collaborated with ensembles such as the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, and Cappella Amsterdam, working under the direction of conductors including Jaap van Zweden, Richard Egarr, Jos van Veldhoven, and Daniel Reuss.
He has also appeared in productions of the Dutch National Opera Academy, including Die Zauberflöte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, conducted by Patrick Lange.
In 2020, he was the only singer to receive an award at the final of the Prinses Christina Concours, where he won several prizes, including audience awards. This recognition led to numerous solo engagements, among them performances with Sinfonia Rotterdam under the direction of Conrad van Alphen. As a current scholar of the Yehudi Menuhin – Live Music Now Stuttgart e.V., Jas Wolfert performs regularly in Stuttgart and the surrounding region, while continuing to refine his artistic voice and develop his individual artistic path, as demonstrated by his recent appearance as a guest in the Poemus Liedkunstreihe at Schloss Filseck.
